Ornithology Intern

Conservation indica is seeking a passionate and motivated Ornithology intern to join our team. This internship provides a unique opportunity for individuals to embark on their ornithology journey, offering a foundational experience while actively contributing to impactful research geared towards the conservation of lesser-known habitats.

Location

Chotila, Surendranagar district, Gujarat

Duration

2 months (July-August 2025)

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct a detailed study of the bird guild of the grasslands of Reshamiya and Devsar villages of Chotila. The output will be a report focusing on the occurrence, distribution, and density of birds found in the landscape.
  2. Contribute to content creation for Conservation indica's social media channels and promotional materials.
  3. Collaborate with team members on various conservation projects, fieldwork activitie, and initiatives.

Requirements

  1. Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s program in zoology (with specialisation in Ornithology).
  2. Passionate about grasslands and birds.
  3. Creativity and innovative thinking are highly desired.
  4. Desired - Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable with DSLR photography.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, desk research, and basic computer skills.
  7. Experience with fieldwork is preferred but not required.
